Handcrafted Ceramic Coffee Cup – Tidal Break | Moonwake Collection

Deep blue glaze flows over a pale satin base in this Tidal Break ceramic coffee cup, part of the Moonwake Collection. The glaze settles and breaks naturally across the surface, creating a layered effect reminiscent of a wave cresting and breaking along the shoreline.

Each cup is wheel-thrown by hand in my studio in Cheadle, Cheshire, shaped with a rounded body and comfortable handle designed for everyday use. The glaze movement forms a soft tide line where the deep blue meets the lighter base, creating subtle variations in every firing.

Because each piece is individually made and glazed, the flow and break of the glaze varies slightly from cup to cup. These quiet differences highlight the handmade process and give every piece its own character while remaining part of the Moonwake palette.

Part of the Moonwake Collection, the Tidal Break glaze captures the meeting point of deep water and shoreline foam — a moment of movement and contrast inspired by the shifting tides.
