Pottery Workshops in Cheadle

Small, relaxed pottery workshops in my working ceramics studio.

A relaxed, hands-on pottery experience

Join me for pottery workshops in Cheadle, Stockport, held in my working ceramics studio in a relaxed, small-group setting. Whether you’re completely new to clay or simply want to spend a few hours making something with your hands, the workshops are designed to be friendly, creative and unhurried.

You’ll make your own piece from clay, and after the workshop I’ll take care of the finishing, firing and glazing for you, ready for you to collect once it’s finished.

Handbuilding Workshops

No experience needed — just come along and enjoy making something from clay. In a small handbuilding workshop, I’ll guide you through simple techniques such as pinching, coiling and slab building to create your own piece.

With a maximum of 4 people, there’s plenty of time for individual help while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and sociable.

Afterwards, I’ll carefully dry, fire and glaze your work in a glaze of your choice, ready for you to collect from the studio.

Wheel Throwing Workshops

Have a go at throwing your own pot on the wheel in a relaxed, one-to-one or two-person session. I’ll guide you through the process from preparing the clay to centring, pulling up the walls and shaping your pot.

With 2 wheels in the studio, these sessions are limited to a maximum of 2 people, so you’ll get plenty of individual guidance and time on the wheel.

After your session, I’ll take care of your piece — trimming, drying, firing and glazing it before it’s ready for you to collect.

Ready to get your hands in the clay?

Whether you’d like to have a go on the wheel or spend a relaxed few hours handbuilding, I’d love to welcome you to my studio in Cheadle.
